WSU issued General Revenue Bonds, Series 2018 ($31,32S,000) to fund the one-time costs for implementation of Finance and Human Resources Modernization Project. The project, also known as the Modernization Initiative, is a university-wide effort to replace WSU’s 38-year-old mainframe system and processes with Workday.
The current administrative software, Administrative Information Systems (AIS), has been responsible forsupporting core processes for human resources, payroll and finance operations since its original deployment in the 1980’s. As the aging system draws near its end of useful life, WSU leadership deemed the replacement of AIS a critical and time-sensitive University priority. After performing an evaluation of replacement solutions, it was determined that cloud-based software Workday would best meet the University’s current and future operating requirements. The new Workday software is scheduled to go live on July 1, 2020.
